Random geometric shapes integrate to form a six level circular design. The deceptive design envelops seating for 20,000 with numerous exterior balconies and a 2 acre plaza out front. This all began as a dream for metro Las Vegas and MGM. Doubters claimed Las Vegas would never capture a professional sports franchise. Historically Sports teams have tried to distance themselves from professional gambling. MGM and Bill Foley weren’t swayed. They espoused the, “if you build it they will come” theory. MGM took a gamble and began construction of the massive facility. With no assurances they petitioned the NHL for an expansion hockey franchise. MGM pre-sold over 10,000 season tickets. That got attention, and perseverance was about to pay. Nineteen months of construction was nearing completion when the final decision came down. The Las Vegas Knights would be the newest NHL franchise! Our qualified team of 40 + floor mechanics were all in from the beginning and eager for the challenge! It was a whirlwind of concrete slurry and carpet fibers with 12,000+ sy yards of soft surface, 20,000+ sf of resilient, 30,000+ lf of base, 35,000+ sf of Resinous floor, 140,000+ sf of sealed concrete and 165,000+ sf of polished concrete, — enough to consume any mere mortals. Six floors of steps with no functioning elevator, until the very end, would have broken a lesser team. Our team was on top of the pushed timeline working tireless long days onsite. The project was segmented with 10 onsite superintendents each clamoring for results in their areas. Our INSTALL trained employees performed flawlessly. The result was the stunning contemporary entertainment facility you see pictured. Las Vegas has a stellar architectural masterpiece for concerts, events and pro sports!
