With more than 100 interactive encounters in science, arts and culture spread over three floors, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum provides a vibrant and engaging experience. Through whimsical exhibits and engaging programs, children actively participate in playful learning experiences. With each exhibit carefully coordinated by its own director, every area was unique. With this uniqueness came our greatest design challenge, to flawlessly merge 7 different types of flooring. Transitioning not only between the different exhibits, but interwoven within each exclusive space itself. Photos 4, 5 & 6 depict the “Young at Art” exhibit featuring vibrant Amtico resilient tiles that invite you to discover your passion for art. The 7th photo depicts the “Patent’s Pending” exhibit which merged 2 different sizes and species of resilient tile. The first three photos depict “Eco City” where you can walk down a sidewalk of Capri Cork lined by artificial grass and veer off into various ‘shops’ that merge 5 of the different flooring types. Every child at heart, young or old, will discover a world of creativity in this unique museum.
